FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Happens At My TESLA Chair Appointment?

The treatment uses innovative magnetic technology to penetrate deep into the muscle tissue without any direct contact with the skin. The magnetic pulse can pass through clothes, soft tissue, and bone, making the treatment ideal for stimulating otherwise inaccessible muscles and tissue. The FMS activates the pelvic floor muscles and causes them to contract which builds strength and endurance.

What Types Of Concerns Can Be Treated?

The TESLA Chair treatment provides long-term solutions for weak pelvic floor related issues in both men and women. Some of the concerns that can be treated including:

  • Urge and stress incontinence
  • Faecal incontinence
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Chronic lower back and pelvis pain
  • Postpartum and musculoskeletal rehabilitation
  • Sports injury rehabilitation
  • Rehabilitation after pelvic floor muscle surgery
  • Chronic prostatitis
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Chronic prostate inflammation
  • Incontinence after radical prostatectomy
  • Problems due to poor circulation.

Is This Treatment Good For Pelvic Floor Strengthening?

The TESLA Chair is most used for pelvic floor weakness, a common problem for many women of various ages. Pelvic floor weakness is caused by many factors including age, pregnancy and childbirth, menopause, and injuries. The TESLA Chair is a non-invasive, comfortable treatment for this common concern.

What is the difference between TESLA Chair and IncontiLase?

The IncontiLase Treatment uses an Erbium laser to heat and tighten the vaginal wall tissue, tightening the vagina and lifting the urethra for better urinary control. The TESLA Chair uses magnetic fields to create contractions of the pelvic floor muscles, strengthening them to treat conditions such as stress incontinence, urge incontinence and other sexual health concerns. The TESLA Chair does not stimulate collagen or tighten the vaginal walls so if this is required, the IncontiLase may be recommended for you. Some patients have a combination of both treatments for maximum results.

Is It Gentle Enough For Lower Back Complaints?

The TESLA Chair is a painless and non-invasive procedure making it an excellent treatment for muscular issues relating to the lower back. By stimulating the muscles in the lower back, this procedure doesn’t require the patient to move, only to sit in the chair. A magnetic field is generated by a small pulse of electrical current inside the electromagnetic chair which triggers the nervous system of the body. By adjusting the position of the backrest within the chair, specific muscles can be targeted to contract and strengthen. Additional benefits are a boost in blood circulation around the treated area.
