Is HydraFacial Suitable For Sensitive Skin Types? What About Dry Or Oily Skin?

Using only a water-based exfoliation method, the non-invasive, mild procedure gives the same results as more aggressive treatments such as microdermabrasion, but without the harsh effects that traditional treatments such as microdermabrasion frequently cause. What Happens Before, During And After Treatment?

One of our qualified and experienced HydraFacial skin treatment specialists will examine your face and any other areas receiving this treatment. In this consultation we will discuss your areas of concern, the procedure involved, and develop a tailored-made treatment plan to suit the needs of your skin.

You can have the treatment immediately after your consultation or arrange to book your treatment for another time. There is no obligation at all to go ahead with the treatment, and we love when people come in to talk to us about how we can help.

During your treatment:

You will lie down comfortably on a table in one of our treatment rooms while the HydraFacial machine is expertly placed on the treatment area or areas. When the wand touches your skin you will feel only a very light sucking sensation. Even with the hyaluronic acid applied there is no tingle sensation and only a damp coolness on the skin.

After your treatment:

Most of our patients notice visible results immediately after their first treatment and leave our clinic with a smooth and radiant complexion. Some people experience mild redness, especially around the nose, however, our specialists can recommend skincare products to help with this, and will suggest ways to care for your skin including applying sunscreen daily to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Is HydraFacial Better Than Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion uses a handheld device that ‘sands’ the skin to get rid of dead skin cells but it does not hydrate the skin. Microdermabrasion often leaves the skin red for longer than 24 hours and can cause long-term skin damage resulting in broken capillaries, increased oil production, and thinning of the skin. About Face Brisbane does not provide or recommend microdermabrasion treatments. Don’t be tempted by cheap Groupon microdermabrasion ‘bargains’ – they are cheap for a reason, and your skin won’t thank you for it.

In total contrast to microdermabrasion, HydraFacial (which uses hydra-dermabrasion technology) does not use crystal technology or hard wands to assist in the exfoliation process so there is no abrasive damage done to the skin tissue. This is a gentle procedure removing dead skin cells while infusing nutrients into the skin at the same time. The results are a better complexion and improved skin health. With continued treatment, HydraFacial can reduce the severity of acne and skin pigmentation.
