Cosmetic Tattooing and Semi-Permanent Makeup

Cosmetic tattooing, also known as semi-permanent makeup, is used to enhance natural features and allow you to wake up with makeup on. A premium pigment is used with either a manual device or a machine, to implant the pigment into the upmost layer of the dermis. Advanced cosmetic tattoo techniques are the best way to create a natural makeup effect, saving you time and effort of applying and maintaining makeup throughout the day.

Feather Touch Eyebrows with Microblading

Feather touch eyebrows are one of the most popular cosmetic tattooing techniques, as many women struggle with their natural brow shape. Feather touch brows use microblading to mimic natural brow hairs with fine, hair-like strokes. This can be used to create brow fullness, fill in gaps, and enhance the brow shape best suited to your face.

What happens at my eyebrow microblading appointment?

When you attend your appointment, your cosmetic tattoo artist will discuss your treatment goals, explain the process thoroughly and apply numbing cream. Your brows will then be mapped out. Brow mapping is a careful process to measure the correct height, width, length and placement of your brows according to your natural eyebrow shape, eyes and face shape. After this, your artist will start colour matching you to ensure the pigment is the correct colour for your skin tone and eyebrow hair. In most cases, the pigment is matched to your natural eyebrow or hair colour. The appointment generally takes 1.5-2.5 hours.

What results can I expect?

After your initial appointment, you return in 4-6 weeks for a review and touch up. As the tattoo heals, it will fade slightly. The touch up session is where we perfect the brows and then your eyebrows will last approximately 12-24 months. Feather touch brows are a more advanced technique than traditional permanent makeup, although this lasted longer in the skin, it would create a very unnatural appearance and used ink that often did not resemble a natural hair colour.

Lip Tattooing

Cosmetic lip tattoos create a more even lip colour, define the lip line and create a youthful lip look. Melissa performs three different types of lip tattoos for different looks.

Lip Liner

Lip liner is popular for those with a lack of definition of their natural lip line. Clients will opt for this style if they do not want to change their natural lip colour and just want to focus on the lip shape. Melissa recommends a lip blend or full lip tattoo for a more natural appearance.

Lip Blend

The lip blend is a blended lip liner effect, so the full lips are not tattooed. The result is a soft and diffused look, rather than a sharp line like it is with makeup lip liner. Our lip blending tattooing offers a more natural appearance and is ideal for those without major natural lip colour loss, or those who don’t want to change their natural lip colour.

Full Lips

The most popular lip tattoo effect is the full lip. Our cosmetic tattooing expert Melissa uses a tattoo machine to define the lip line and colour in the entire lips, for an even colour all over. This can be as natural and subtle or as bright as you like.

What happens at my lip tattoo appointment?

Your initial appointment will consist of your consultation, shaping and colour choice. Numbing cream or a lip block are both available, as we have Dr Campey on the premises. Melissa will follow your natural lip shape, correcting any asymmetry when mapping the lips. You will then choose your lip colour with Melissa’s guidance. An initial lip tattoo appointment can take from 2-3 hours in total.

What results can I expect?

After your initial appointment, there is a complimentary touch-up 4-6 weeks later to touch up the colour and make any adjustments. The lip tattoo then lasts about 2 to 4 years.

Cosmetic Eyeliner Tattooing

Cosmetic Eyeliner tattooing is an excellent way to enhance your eye shape and create the illusion of a thicker lash line. Eyeliner tattoo can be on the top lash line, bottom lash line or both. Most clients will have black eyeliner done but brown is available too for an even more subtle look.

What happens at my eyeliner tattooing appointment?

Melissa will map out your ideal eyeliner and numb the area. The eyeliner can be fine for an eyelash line enhancement or thicker for an eyeliner makeup look. Your initial appointment will take 1-2 hours.

What results can I expect?

After your first appointment, there is a complimentary touch-up 4-6 weeks later to touch up the colour and make any adjustments. After your touch-up session, your eyeliner will generally last 2 to 4 years.
